Yahoo! Begins Live Testing Bing Powered Results

It almost marks a year since Yahoo! and Bing announced they merge that sent ripples through the SEO world. This week revealed that the merge has moved on considerably since July 2009, as Yahoo! confirmed via email that both offline and live testing is well underway for the future Yahoo! & Bing transition.

Yahoo confirmed they are testing Bing powered results in Yahoo!’s live search results, which has been speculated by many SEO’s including OMG Search last week. Yahoo said;

“Though much of our testing is already happening offline, this month we’ll also test the delivery of organic and paid search results provided by Microsoft on live Yahoo! traffic.”

This month we will see Yahoo! beginning to test search results, both paid and organic, on live Yahoo! search queries.

Bing search results on Yahoo could appear as soon as today.

The official transfer has been scheduled to be in August or September however it all depends on the success of the testing period, as any potential problems could push it back to the later part of the year.
